Georgia Rowan
I am a community dance facilitator, choreographer and performer based in Sheffield.
I trained in Germany, followed by an MA at the London Contemporary Dance School and have worked across dance theatre, site-specific and immersive theatre, community-led projects and film, including Persona Collective, Shobana Jeyasingh, LANDMARKING and Hallam Sinfonia.
I teach weekly movement classes in Sheffield and guest teach for 50+ Contemporary Dance Sheffield and Yorkshire Movement and Dance.
My practice is informed by my identity as a queer neurodivergent person, together with an urge to create spaces for adults from all walks of life to connect through movement, storytelling and self-expression.
I make dance theatre, film and installation-based work that involves both professional and community performers
Whether facilitating, choreographing or performing, I strive to platform marginalised, honest and vulnerable voices, allowing important stories to be heard.
