UPLIFT returns to Rotherham for its third year and the festival will transform the town centre with a full programme of urban sports activities, music, dance, art and more.
Roller Girl Gang will return with their exciting and fun roller rink in All Saints’ Square, and we look forward to welcoming back The House Skate Park too who will offer skateboarding instruction and advice, plus amazing demos to inspire you.
Rotherham BMX will be bringing a pop-up BMX, skate and scooter park and new for this year Nova City will be joining us bringing parkour and street dance to add to the amazing mix of activities!
This popular FREE event for young people will also include a live music stage with a programme of brilliant performances, creative workshops, Young Makers’ Market, contemporary dance company SAY with their show The Album: Skool Edition, and Rotherham United Community Trust will there too!

Pop-up Roller Skating Rink, All Saints’ Square
Roller Girl Gang will be hosting roller disco sessions throughout the festival, with skate marshals also on hand to get new skaters rolling.
Pop-up BMX, skate and cooter Park, Bridgegate
Rotherham BMX and Waller BMX Coaching have joined forces to offer free-ride sessions and coaching over the three-day festival. Borrow a bike or scooter on site or bring your own. Safety kit will be supplied. Recommended for ages 5 – 13 years.
Pop-up Skate Park, Upper Millgate
The popular House Skate Park from Sheffield will host a pop-up skate park offering free-skate sessions, demonstrations, and coaching sessions with ramps, plus a 5m half-pipe brought by King Ramps. Recommended for ages 14+
Parkour & Street Dance, The Minster Gardens
New for 2024, the urban sports specialists from NovaCity Activity Centre will land in the town centre to demonstrate their jaw-dropping skills in parkour, street dance, tricking, and stunt fighting throughout the day. Join in and learn from the pros with workshops and taster sessions.
UPLIFT Live Music Stage, Church Street
Bringing you a jam-packed programme of performances, the live music stage is a chance to hear some amazing young musical talent from Rotherham and South Yorkshire, including The Banned, Tivolis, TowHead and Pelican Crossing.

Celebrate the joy and innocence of making up dances to exciting new music in this interactive, outdoor dance show.
Young Makers’ Market, Imperial Buildings
Spotlighting the creativity and talent of young entrepreneurs, there will be handmade crafts, knick-knacks, crochet creations and unique jewellery for sale, all created by Rotherham’s next generation of makers.

Rotherham United Community Trust will hold freestyle skill sessions and a competition to see who can complete the skills checklist the fastest!
