Threads that connect us exhibition opens in May!

Threads that Connect Us is a creative project that has involved hundreds of people from all across Rotherham. Based on reconnection and recovery, people have stitched, quilted and appliqued textile artworks, adding to the national creative textiles project ‘Threads of Survival.’ Highlighting tales of sharing fish and chips socially distanced, to stories of love, loss and the joy that friends, pets and family bring to all of us.

These stunning creations will be shown concurrently with the national quilts in two exhibitions across Riverside Gallery in Riverside House and at Rotherham Minster.

Riverside Gallery - 4^th May- 30^th May 2023

Monday, Thursday - 8.30am to 7pm

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday - 8:30am to 5:30pm

Saturday - 9am to 4pm

Rotherham Minster - 10^th May- 30^th May 2023

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday - 11am to 2pm

Tuesday - 11am - 4pm

Saturdays (13th & 27th only) - 11am - 2pm

Friday - Closed

"During the pandemic, I found that quilting was my way of relaxing and being in a room sewing straight lines was very calming, restful and therapeutic. I didn't start the project at the same time as most of the others and I wondered if I would find it too much. I needn't have worried as the group were very welcoming and understanding and it was wonderful that materials were provided"
