BAMBOO - A performance by NoFit State

A high-impact, high skill circus production using only bamboo and human bodies - revealing the fragility and beauty of our interconnected life on this planet.

The artists arrive at an empty stage, and using circus they construct towering sculptures which morph, transform and become an improbable, delicate playground.

Inhabited by world-class circus artists and acrobats, the structures bend and flex, adding to the tensions, drama, and sense of jeopardy that lies at the heart of great circus. A meaningful, joyful performance with live music, comedy and amazing feats of strength and agility. We celebrate what’s possible when humans and the natural world trust each other and work in harmony.

BAMBOO is a partnership between NoFit State, Imagineer and Orit Azaz, and is directed by Mish Weaver. It was created with support from the Arts Council of Wales, the Foyle Foundation, and Without Walls, and was commissioned by Stockton International Riverside Festival, Norfolk & Norwich Festival, Hat Fair, and Timber Festival.

Step Right Up for a Daring Day Out at Clifton Park!

Prepare to be amazed as The Great Bullzini, the UK’s leading high wire walker, takes to the skies above Clifton Park! Watch in awe as he brings to life the incredible true story of Harold, Edgar, Elsie, Hilda, and Minnie Alzana (Davis) – a fearless family of wire walkers from Maltby who became global superstars of the circus world in the 1930s and 1940s.

Look out for out iconic black and white big top ’The Magpie’ and step inside for a brand-new Circus Cabaret packed with jaw-dropping skill, extraordinary strength and belly laughs for all ages. We’re bringing some seriously talented new artists!

Bring the whole family, this show is for absolutely everyone!

Step inside our mobile museum trailer to explore rarely seen archival photos, original Pathé newsreels, and local stories that celebrate the Alzanas and other unsung circus legends from the area. Find out how these local heroes helped shape the dazzling world of circus arts. Open 11am-5pm, all weekend.
