Ferham Festival Stage Line-up
Heera Singh
'Bhangra refers to several forms of folk dance and music that originated in the Punjab region of India. The dance is generally performed during the Vaisakhi festival that celebrates the harvest. Bhangra has a very energetic and lively tone and the dance is equally vivacious. The festival is celebrated with much pomp and fervour and the dresses worn by the male and female dancers are quite different from each other although both are a reflection of the joyous celebrations.'
August Charles
August Charles is an Alt-Soul singer born in Ndola, Zambia and raised in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Influenced by the work of Frank Ocean and Amy Winehouse, his music combines elements of both retro-soul and alternative R&B. With a focus on expressive vocal arrangements, lush instrumentals and thought-provoking lyricism, August's ability to tell intricately woven stories has begun to turn heads. August and his band have shared stages with luminaries such as Nile Rodgers & Chic, Emily Sandé, Omar, Gotts Street Park and Adi Oasis. His live performances throughout summer 2022 saw him playing live at Tramlines Festival, Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival, A Stones Throw Festival, and Ealing Jazz Festival amongst others. This year will see him take the stage at Ferham Festival for the very first time.
