Vicky Hilton
Community artist and producer working grassroots in Rotherham and beyond for over 15 years. I have a wealth of experience working with children, young people and communities, coproducing arts projects in a range of disciplines. From lantern making, sculpture projects, mask making, puppetry, installations and more. I have curated over 50 exhibitions and events including the nationally recognised ‘People’s Parade’ The Rotherham Carnival.
Over the past 5 years, I have been working in heritage institutions such as museums and historic sites to ensure communities are represented and that these institutions are reflective of our disparate communities. I am the founder of local arts based social enterprise Artful Make It Happen and continue to work both grassroots and strategically to ensure the smooth operation and success of the business. I am part of the internationally renowned Colourscape team and in 2019 was lucky enough to be one of 5 members who were trained to make Colourscape and tend to the upkeep and maintenance of the structure. I also run colour workshops for young people including SEN children and young people.
