Georgina Kamsika

I was born in Rotherham to Indian immigrant parents. I have spent most of my life explaining my English first name, Polish surname, and South Asian heritage.

As a second-generation immigrant raised in a working-class community, I utilise fiction to examine power structures that mirror the real world; touching on issues of race, class, and gender. At the end of the day, I care about stories about people, even if sometimes those people are ghost or aliens!

I’ve led a number of creative writers’ workshops, and have even helped design them to be more inclusive. I have experience of teaching writing theory and practice, both online and face-to-face.
