Anna Bean

I am a freelance artist and designer based in Hull. I work on both personal and commissioned projects. I use photography, photomontage and collage to create artwork. I also work in collaboration with performers to reshape my 2D created worlds into immersive theatrical experiences allowing the audience to become part of these imaginary spaces. I enjoy transforming my images into three dimensional sets incorporating costumes, props and projected animations. When creating my work I am inspired by fairy tales, cinema, theatre and tv programmes. I love the idea of a light hearted approach to art as a way of rising above the sometimes mundane nature of everyday life. I enjoy the process of involving people of all ages to be part of my work tapping into their desire to be playful and sometimes silly. I believe that art can be used to inspire joyfulness.
