The field was transformed, with an 18 metre long, 11 metre high wire for the artists to train on, The Bullzini Family show waggon with its beautiful blue, red and gold livery and the Let's Circus have a go area complete with hoops, a training wire, miniature bikes and heaps of circus kit. Every day, we welcomed visitors to have a go, watch in wonder and chat about our shared daredevil acts.
On Saturday we celebrated at Maltby Community Festival with over 1100 people from the local area, plus Rotherham's Mayor Councillor Rukhsana Ismail and MP Jake Richards, who came together to watch in awe as The Great Bullzini and tight wire dancer Ronja Breuk recreated the story of the Alzana Family and their daredevil journey- High up in the air creating an extraordinary hush as people held their breath and watched in amazement.
Alongside Maltby Sword Dancers, Maltby Brass Band, Children's Capital of Culture, Maltby Scouts and many other local organisations plus family members and residents who had first hand memories of the original high wire walkers, it was a really special event.
There is lots more to come! Let's Circus will be back in Maltby in July and August, popping up in communities and collecting more daredevils from the local area!
The Great Bullzini will also be back in Rotherham in late August and early September, so you've not missed out!
