Whilst exploring the site, Vic will facilitate a range of gentle creative writing prompts to inspire your own written responses to both the current natural environment and to the rich industrial heritage of Silverwood Colliery.
Bob will guide us through the site and share his wide knowledge of the site both as a working environment and its transformation over time as valuable space for nature and a wonderful place for people to enjoy.
This will be an informal activity; no writing experience is necessary and sharing of any writing is optional. You are welcome to join us just for the walk if you prefer.
Walking Conditions – The site has a good path network. There are some rougher parts and uneven areas which may not be accessible to everyone, depending on your mobility. There are some gentle and moderate slopes (both up and down) along the route so please consider your ability to manage these. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for this type of walk and for the weather on the day.
