Maltby Model Village Fun Day
In our third year at the Model Village fun day, we enjoyed a wonderful event as part of the Green and Growing programme. Families participated in decorating recycled plastic pots and planting them with marigolds, allowing them to take home a lovely creation or gift it to someone special.
Maltby Summer Nights
It was a wonderful opportunity for young people to gather in a local park, enjoying activities offered by Maltby partner organisations, including Flux Rotherham. With the sun shining, participants were treated to free pizza, soft drinks, and music, creating a vibrant atmosphere for friends to connect safely in the early evening. Flux Rotherham also invited artist Phil Padfield to support anyone who wanted to get creative with their graphic art skills using a range of materials, with chance to create their own unique masterpiece.
Flux Rotherham Free Style Art and Games at China Town Neighbourhood Greenspace in Maltby
We hosted a hyperlocal creativity splash at China Town, inviting everyone to step outside and enjoy art materials on a grand scale—no mess in the house! Adults and children alike went paint crazy during this wonderfully creative activity, producing some fabulous results. We’re calling Tate Modern in next year!
Maltby by The Sea at Stepping Stones Centre (Early Help)
Flux Rotherham got a free pass to this fantastic family fun day, marking our second year at this amazing outdoor community event. Simple yet engaging activities proved to be the most effective for the (mostly) under-fives. A big thank you to the Early Help Team for inviting us back!
Maltby Show
This classic annual summer show offered something for everyone, with great weather and a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy time together. We were thrilled to introduce something a little different this year, bringing the beautifully unique Bewonderment Machine to Maltby, brought to us by artists Alison and Pete from A Bird in the Hand. It was love at first sight for Maltby families, and there wasn’t an empty spot on the small but perfectly formed cycle-powered roundabout all day long!
'Our Habitat Our Home' Den Building and Picnic at Hellaby Parish Hall Gardens
Inspired by Museum Rotherham’s exhibition, ‘Our Habitat Our Home’ we offered local families the chance to build a home for one or more of the pre loved soft toys and using the large pile of natural materials and recycled fabrics we had brought along. Aimed at early years children, this simple but creative activity meant that children could make and re make ‘homes’ for a ‘new’ soft toy friend all afternoon with friends and family.
‘Right to Play’ by Pif-Paf Theatre comes to Cherry Tree Park in Maltby
Cherry Tree Park, a large neighbourhood park in Maltby located near many family homes, was the perfect venue for the Pif-Paf Theatre Right to Play activity. Fortunately, Maltby kids had the chance to try out the new sand and water kitchen as well. Despite the poor weather, the rain didn’t stop the fun, the sand and water kitchen passed with flying colours.
